I belong to one of many social networks.  One in particular on the Ning network. It is called GEEKS. I have been an ardent fan of it since joining this past fall. This morning however, I’d left a comment that was in “fact” quite positive, and to be frank clearly stated how happy I was that this individual had done such a great job, I was hoping to see more.

The moderator whom calls himself  ‘mouse‘, go figure claimed my comments to be rude and inappropriate. There were no expletives, foul language or name calling of any kind in my comment by the way. In fact I’d professed as clear as possible how great I’d thought the post was. This guy however has the power to pull posts, and then make rude comments back to me with no investigation whatso ever. I think this is referred to as “communism” ?? Police state?? Well,, I have clearly learned a lesson, that regardless of the fact that I’d seen so much worse on this site, that this person has some form of axe to grind, and that if he is so small,, mouse I think his name is, that he feels he needs to wield his power however he see’s fit, well whom am I to do anything about it.

I can only imagine that it will eventually drain what few members are there after they get the same remarks as I did. I was truly infuriated, and insulted by this persons, comments to me, and nothing I did warranted it.

What a great job!!, the ability to take others remarks with no accountabillity what so ever and erase them, then send them nasty emails. AWESOME!!

This is becoming the standard with all employers.

I agree with this article. Social networks tell little of a potential applicants skills other than typing, and simply gives insight on how one “possibly” and I say this because online everything is a bit exaggerated. Consequently judgement calls are made on people before they are even offered a chance based upon these things.

I know it is perfectly legal and gives an employer a “so called”  upper hand in the hiring process, but also is a form of snooping that goes beyond backroud, drug, credit checks, tests.

I mean, if this is ok, why not have PI’s follow people around too. Why, because the internet is cheaper, nuff said.
