Podcast

I love podcasts. Their popularity in the past 2 years has skyrocketed. And understandably so. It kills me though cause I got 2 sattellite radios I pay 12+ a month for, and now rarely use them cause I like to listen to my podcast shows when I want to listen to them. The beauty is you listen when you want to. It is the best of all worlds. If thats not enough, it’s free!! What you say? Great entertaining programming, when you want it, no commercials, and Free??? What kind of nirvana is this?

One that unfortunatly will only be around a short while. The big wigs will get a hold of it soon, and don’t worry, we will pay. In the meantime enjoy a great thing for nothing.

The Treaty seems to be coming back of sorts. Or at least in this old cooks humble opinion. While I have yet to dine there, and cannot speak from fact, I am at least incredibly impressed with the recent menus I have seen posted on the old MI building. The Chef appears to be very creative and they also seem to be breaking away from the many years of old stand by dishes, and real talent seems to be prevailing. At least on Paper, now about the Starbucks thing in the KFT. I ‘ll leave this one to all of your imaginations.

I know I know, everyone has heard enough of this, and so have I. However I do need to get a word in. The termination of Imus and all this news is small potatoes. CBS needed a reason to dump this guy, ratings have been waining or flat for years where his show was concerned and thus revenues were not monumental, and this issue made it easy. And CBS kindof looks like heros, or at least to a fraction of the population anyhow.

As for all else, Jesse, Al and all of those who jump in to stir the pot, well they are simply the negative side of what the media brings. Leaches, pilers on whom take away the drippings and scraps, and leave ruined lives in their wake. Do theyapologize for their mistakes, i.e. Duke kids exonerated this past week? Well not yet anyways. If the media presses them enough, then maybe they’ll feel the need to give a so called heartfelt apology, but will not accept any guilt. Unfortunatly this type of thing goes on every day of the week in all walks of life.

It only makes the real racists more powerful and gives them more fuel to hurt with. There are ways in which to deal with these matters. Public humiliation and verbally burning people in efigy via live career destruction is not the way. It is only the modern way to hang someone. Are we the same society we were 200 years ago? Me thinks so.
